Highlights From Wedding Weekend (John & Nicole’s that is)

So my blog has been a little neglected lately and I thought it was time to roll out a fresh post and what better to write about than the wedding of Nicole and John! Nick and I are so happy for these 2 and we were honored to be part of the big day!

The wedding was Oct 17th at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson  City and followed with a reception at The Double Tree. It was a cold day but the rain held off and the wedding was absolutely beautiful. It would take forever for me to describe all the events and details so I have picked a Top 10 Highlights list sort of David Letterman style without an extortion scandal . . .

10. The Nick Oaks Bobble Head Doll

Yes, the Bobble Head above is a creepy likeness of my dearly beloved. John got each of his groomsmen there very own bobble heads. It was a truly awesome and creative gift. Nick’s little mini me stared at me at the rehearsal dinner till he freaked me out and I had turn him to face someone else.

9. DANCING

IMG_0222 Yeah, I totally got to break it down at the reception and it was FABULOUS! John and Nicole even played YEAH! for me!

8. Getting to meet Desirae

IMG_0106

Desirae is Nicole’s bestest friend and was Nicole’s MOH. Desirae lives in California and she and Nicole have been friends since kindergarten (which I think is just so sweet).  I had always heard Nicole talk about Desirae and was just so excited to FINALLY get to meet her. Des is a wonderful person and I hope we get to meet up again someday.

7.Getting to dress up with my HUBBY

IMG_0168 I know this would probably not make Nick’s list, but I love it when we both get to dress up and go somewhere. Since we were both in the wedding it was the perfect excuse (well really we had to). Nicole and John also did a good job of picking awesome stuff for us to wear! Big thanks to Nicole for the pearls you see here she got us the necklace, earrings, and bracelet to wear with our dresses. So nice and I will totally be able to use them again.

6. Topher’s cuteness at the reception

IMG_0180 Topher, my nephew, was totally into the reception. He was constantly on the dance floor “break dancing” and he even managed to get multiple dances with the Bride. He was just TOO CUTE!

5. Nick & Nicole

I just absolutely love this picture of these two! I know Nick was so happy for his twin sister getting married, and I think this photo truly brings out there twin brother-sister connection.

4. Getting to spend time with the Oaks Family (near and far)

It was great that Chris, Megan and the Boys were able to come over from Italy and that Nick’s Aunt Betty, Uncle Sam, his Grandma, and Desirae (family too!) got to come from California. We don’t get to see them often and we had a lot of fun with them.

3. John’s sweet speeches

IMG_0197 IMG_0084

John made 2 totally sweet speeches to Nicole, one at the reception and one at the rehearsal dinner. They both made me tear up a little and I was totally jealous! I am sure every girl who heard either one was sitting there thinking why won’t my husband, fiancĂ©, or bf do that for me. Big brownie points for John! He is a keeper Nicole !(but you already knew that)

2. The beautiful BRIDE

These pictures do not begin to describe how BEAUTIFUL Nicole was on her wedding day. She truly was breathtaking. I told her she looked like a princess, she was just picture perfect! Her dress was gorgeous, hair was great, and make up perfect. I love Nicole like my own sister and she always look great but she was just radiant at her wedding!

Who the Big Day was all about! We love you guys and are so happy for you! Welcome to the Married People Club!

**** I know I have left a lot of stuff and people out of this list so if you are not on here please do not be offended. Everything was wonderful but I had to get it down to a Top 10 or it would have been the longest blog ever.
